New Growth
We are excited to announce the formal amalgamation of South Port Community Housing Group Inc (SPCHG) with Prahran Malvern Community Housing Inc (PMCH).
On the 22 June 2022, Special General Meetings were held by both organisations to pursue an amalgamation of both Incorporated Associations.
Last week, the process was formalised with the granting of a certificate of incorporation approved by the Deputy Registrar of Incorporated Associations. The new entity retain the name South Port Community Housing Group Inc.
The current SPCHG Board continues to govern the new entity and the amalgamated organisation led by Charlie Beckley, the current CEO.
The amalgamation of SPCHG and PMCH into one entity, working across a broader catchment area, strengthens our commitment to housing marginalised singles within the inner southern area of Metropolitan Melbourne, as well as provides increased scale to deliver better services and support to our residents and staff.
New Directions
Now marks as good a time as any to also release our new Strategic Plan for the organisation.
Developed over the past eight months by the Board and staff, the document outlines our key directions and priorities for the longer term. It also affirms our commitment to build upon the solid foundations and strengths of our unique approach to providing community housing and homelessness support.
Amid much challenge, but also great opportunity, we are looking forward to rolling up our sleeves with partners to address the ever growing need for social housing and support for marginalised singles in our community.
